In the few months before the 2011 Ashton Keynes Music Festival, Martin Milnes formed a ukulele group with members from Ashton Keynes and the surrounding towns and villages. Clive Harvey (featured photo) was invited to perform at the Festival and teach a large group of ukulele players. Most, if not all, were new to playing the ukulele. The group then performed at the Festival with Martin Milnes as the lead singer.
From there the group continued to meet weekly and perform occasionally. It then developed into The Ukey D’Ukes. The Ukey D’Ukes are something a little bit different. They are a fun, entertaining, Rockin’ Ukulele Band, playing a wide range of music from The Cure to George Ezra, from Small Faces to Snow Patrol, from Neil Young to Amy Winehouse and from Elvis Presley to Little Big Town
